  • This training is for frontline workers in healthcare, shelters and all professions and administrative staff who interact directly to manage escalating or threatening situations in a manner that will prevent harm to themselves or their patients.

    In this training session, you will learn effective strategies for de-escalating a situation, including the three steps of situational awareness, the ten stages of verbally de-escalating an agitated person and communication intervention techniques.

     Upon successful completion of the workshop activities, the learner will be able to:

    • Define “situational awareness”

    • What are the 3 things to Identify in “situational awareness”

    • Why and how to apply these in the “situational awareness” to daily workplace

    • What are the 10 stages of Verbal De-escalation

    • Describe “active listening” and communication techniques
