  • Individuals, teams and departments…each has their own character, unique knowledge, held assumptions, biases, personalities and skillsets. And, because of that variety, it is easy for conflict, differences and disruptive behaviours to emerge. Help get individuals, teams and the entire organization to change with this eye-opening program!

    Every workplace contends with this; Sometimes conflict seems the norm, maybe it takes too long to get things done, and problems lurk in many corners. Too often individuals and groups seem to work more against each other rather than with each other. As a leader, what do you do? How do you get individuals and teams, who are all part of the bigger picture, willingly “pulling on the oars” in the same direction?

    We help you tackle this at 2 levels.

  • Leaders learn new coaching skills, new ways to manage performance that gets results, without resistance. Using a sophisticated computer simulation tool you and the other participants coach a Supervisor from struggling to success. The exercise is intensive, comprehensive and realistic. The answers do not come easily, but you leave the training with new principles to apply, a new language and techniques that you can use tomorrow!

    o Three skill sets that lead individual and teams to more ownership of their work

    o To read situations and discern behaviours needed to lead individuals and teams to greater ownership of their work

    o To develop consistent coaching skills that apply to everyday work and settings

    o To establish strategies that will lead teams and individuals to greater autonomy

    Content

    This training, which involves an electronic simulation that engages people through this experiential learning environment. Participants will gain new insights into the use and misuse of authority. They will discover and apply practical ways to use organizational authority to lead individuals and teams to a higher level of contribution.

  • Anyone who works with others and wants to improve their interactional competencies with others. Managing down, peer-to-peer and managing up. (Supervisors, Managers, Directors, Executives, Team Leaders, New Managers, Front-Line Supervisors, Emerging Leaders, People Working With Volunteers)

    Note - You can stop at Level 1, which, on its own, will yield positive change, or you can go on to Level 2

  • Engaging and Empowering Your Team – You came to understand the importance of the 3A’s of Leadership in the Level 1 training. You like the new coaching skills your leaders have. Individual performance is improving but you know your organization could use more. You want to dig deeper and address team performance, versus just individual performance.

    Method

    Continuing to use the computer simulation tool, you will grow your team, such that they solve problems and start to take on more and new responsibilities.

    When facing an event, discern who to focus upon: the individual or the team?

    Understanding the importance to know when, where and how to intervene with a team or individual.

    Learning which of the three areas to focus on. Individual, Team or Organization.

    Assessing the different intervention levels, which include The Content, The Method or Process and The System/Midset.

    Which of the 3 A’s (learned in Level 1 training) Alignment, Assurance, Activation is appropriate at which level?

    Increasing the team impact in decoding the team-level issues.

    Learning how to effectively address team performance

    The prerequisite is that you have taken Level 1 training.

  • Anyone who works with others and wants to improve their interactional competencies with staff or volunteers. The focus is on the teams in various departments (Supervisors, Managers, Directors, Executives)
